FOR THE LOVE OF CHURCH
On Stewardship Sunday, August 24, we asked worshippers to write on a card their response to “I love my church because. . . .” A sincere “thank you” to the 32 people who took the time to do that. Here are their responses:
I love my church because. . .
. . . it is such a caring, loving church.
. . . it provides Christian fellowship to me with prayer.
. . . a place for the family of Christ to meet is a very precious thing in this world.
. . . it loves me and accepts me “just as I am Lord.”
. . . it’s a place where I can worship God with others who love Him. The congregation is
my extended family. We care about and are willing to help each other. We are a
group of like-minded people who have similar values and who enjoy serving the Lord
together.
. . . people are friendly.
. . . it is filled with family, faith and friends.
. . . I feel at home and for all the wonderful friends that I’ve met here!
. . . as a visitor, your church makes me happy, bigger is not necessarily better.
. . . the people love this church
. . . the sermon feeds my soul for the upcoming week.
. . . it is Bible believing. Many people are truly caring and concerned about others. It
helps us grow in our spiritual journey.
. . . the people are like family to me and I get what I need to get through the week.
. . . all the great members!
. . . when I come here I feel like I have found the church home I’ve been seeking for a
long time.
. . . of caring, loving people, great sermons.
. . . it fills my heart and life with joy.
. . . God is working in my life and led me to this church.
. . . it’s a friendly, loving and caring house of God.
. . . of the warmth and love shown to all.
. . . it has a “presence” that remains a constant over our 30 years here despite the many
changes in the makeup of our congregation and ministers.
. . . there is a welcoming atmosphere and a sense of community and spirit that makes it
comfortable and fulfilling to welcome God into my life.
. . . it is my loving home.
. . . it welcomes all people – members and visitors alike.
. . . of Dewey Peterson.
. . . the friendly and caring people.
. . . of the people. They welcome me into the family of God every Sunday and the rest of
my week goes much better because of the love that is here.
. . . it provides the fuel I need to keep running all week.
. . . it’s about Jesus.
. . . of the friendly people.
. . . of the people of Acton Church. They are a loving group of people.
. . . we are all family with Jesus at the head of the table.
. . . it gives me an opportunity to praise the Lord for all He has done for me.
